Against the Odds

A. MGP is building a solar micro-grid network to provide LED light and mobile charging at ₹25/week. This helps rural families get affordable electricity.
A. Panels were installed on brick houses, facing south to capture maximum sunlight. Batteries were kept inside the same house.
A. Solar grids reduced pollution and saved the environment. Children can study more, new businesses emerged, and women enjoy cooking in light.
A. He said reading would help women realize their strength and promote unity among them.
A. In 2014, the library started a women’s unit, planned separate reading rooms, and supported workshops to empower women.
